These are two separate decks done about a year apart from each other. The big one is 40 feet wide and features the privacy fence on the street-side. The smaller deck is L-shaped and comes off of the master bedroom.
This deck was basically the replacement of an older deck. The homeowner wanted to expand it slightly and add a staircase. This project took a total of one week from start to finish.

This was my first project on my own that was the start of Como Lake Carpentry. The Lundeens are a fantastic couple that live in St. Louis Park, and back in August Max asked me to do some of the work to finish their basement. So it started off as block walls and cement floor, and the end result is much more inviting. I took care of the framing, insulating, sheetrock, mudding and taping, and trimming. Before
This home near Como Lake was in need of a new look. The aluminum awning was a bit of an eye-sore as it had shown its years of abuse from ice and snow.

After
This finished product is much more inviting, and a lot less scary to walk under. I pre-built the trusses and anchored them to the house. I took the extra time and effort to make sure that the roof flashing goes up behind the stucco. All in all it was a fairly quick and inexpensive project that greatly helped with the curb appeal of the house.

The underside of the awning is now aluminum soffit and houses a couple of can lights near the entry.
Back in February, the Thinglestad’s asked me to retile a tub surround in their house. This was a very unique design, and a lot of fun to create. You can check it out at Jamie’s blog: http://www.thingelstad.com/tetris-shower/
